So it's your break away from it all, and if you don't want to use the full kitchen facilities in the chapel, there are some of the best country pubs very close by.

The Royal Oak, situated right in the centre of Poynings and is the very heart of the local friendly community.
It's the sort of pub where you'll instantly feel at home and it's almost guaranteed that someone will introduce themselves within the first half an hour. From that point you'll get to know all the amusing regulars and be included in the local stories and gossip.
The Royal Oak is one of the only pubs that offers its great selection of locally sourced produce cooking right through from 12.00 to 9:30 at night. For the busy days like Sunday or Bank Holiday Monday's it’s best to get in early to book the best tables in the house.
If you've already booked the chapel, it may be advisable to book a table for at least one of the days of your stay. Call 01273 857389 or visit the pub’s website for more details: Royal Oak website
Set in the next village of Fulking, only one mile away, you can make the simple choice of taking a nice short stroll from the chapel, or jumping in your car or a cab.
The Shepherd and Dog offers a slightly different range of ales but like the Royal Oak the food is excellent.
Get there early if you are popping up on Sunday as it tends to be rather busy, especially on nice days.
