Henfield Village - Places nearby the Zion Chapel Holiday Cottage

Henfield is only eight to ten minutes drive from Poynings. It’s well worth a visit if you need to stock up for your stay.

We’ve picked some of the very best places to go, all tried and tested by ourselves over the years. They are especially useful if you are intent on using the chapel’s cooking facilities yourself!

1. Head north on Cora's Walk toward Mill Lane
2. At the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto A281

 

 Swains Farm Shop

Business Hours: Monday to Saturday 8am - 6pm, Sundays and Bank Holidays 9am - 5pm.

Only five minutes drive from Zion Chapel, heading towards Henfield, Swains offers some of the best farm produce in the area.

If you are stocking up to cook your own Sunday roast with fresh vegetables literally just pulled from the ground, Swains is the place to go.

If you have children, the farm shop also doubles as an animal sanctuary, with goats, rams, donkeys and ducks!

Organic Vegetables

If you want vegetables tasting like no-other and 100% organic, then the ultimate is Henri and Phil’s Sunflower Vegetables.

As there is no specific shop location this requires a little pre-organisation, but well worth it if you want the very best tasting veg that has ever landed on your plates!

Henfield Butchers

For meat lovers, this is one of the best butchers in the area and sits in the middle of Henfield High Street.

Award winning, the range of sausages stretches to some 15 varieties and is certainly worth a trip if you fancy cooking a full English breakfast at the chapel each morning.
